Setting your 2020 vision for your business

As 2019 comes to an end, it’s time to start putting together plans and goals for the coming year. Have you decided what you want to achieve in 2020?

The Christmas break is the perfect time to take a step back and review your business’ progress. It’s the time when the working world is generally quiet; when everyone is in a reflective state of mind and when you actually have the time to think about the big picture without being engulfed by the daily “to do’s” of running a business.

It’s when we assess how we’ve done in the last year as a business; have we achieved all the goals set out at the same time in 2019? What could we have done differently or better? And based on those answers, we can plan for the upcoming year.

At Somer Design each year, we do the ‘ Year Compass’ reflecting and planning not only for business but all aspects of life. For 2020, our plans are quite ambitious 🙂

  • Become president of BNI Commonwealth Chapter
  • Climb Mt Snowden for charity with the Somer Design team
  • Learn to ski
  • See the Northern Lights

Would you like to give it a go? It’s called the Year Compass and you can download the booklet for free and get started.

On a purely professional note, many of our clients have expressed that one of the key areas of focus they begin each year with is getting more exposure for the company; building the brand and finding ways for prospective clients to find them.

  • The questions that are usually asked are:
  • Have we accessed all our target markets?
  • Are there any new markets that we can reach out to?
  • How do we reach them?
  • Are we using our current customers as potential customers effectively?
  • How do we use digital marketing to its full potential?
  • Other companies are doing so much on social media. Should we be doing more?
  • Is my brand recognisable?
  • Do our customers know what we stand for?

It doesn’t matter what size your business is. These fundamental questions are the same for any company of any size. And ideally these questions should be asked every six months so that you and your team know where you are and whether you are heading in the right direction.

Based on discussions with our clients, Somer Design has successfully created and implemented a 90-day Brand Elevator Package with a view to answer all those questions and find practical and time-bound solutions. This elevator package aims to propel your branding and website through design, SEO and content marketing to get it working as an effective marketing tool as quickly as possible.

The process involves a detailed briefing and audit with yourself and your team to assess where you are and where you want to be. We’ll talk about your company’s vision, principles and ethos along with your short term and long term goals.

We then come back after discussion with our team of SEO specialists, content strategists writers and social media experts with a 90 day plan of what we need to do to get your company seen and heard in the online world.

Our recommendations may include changes to your website by adding landing pages and calls to action to make it more visible to Google’s search algorithms, a series of blog articles and lead magnets based on a detailed keyword analysis by our SEO team and a sustained social media campaign. Our aim will be to provide your current and prospective clients enough information and value via your website, blogs and social media channels to convince them that your business will be able to solve their problem; that you are the expert in your field.

With all these aspects working together towards a common purpose, we’re certain that you will see a shift in your online marketing results.

We’ve had a lot of success with this package for many of our clients. The overall comment being that it’s cost-effective, time-bound and results oriented. As a business owner isn’t that what you are looking for?

So, this Christmas break when you’re reviewing your company’s growth strategy and goals for 2020, make sure you add Somer Design’s 90 -day brand elevator package to the list. You will not be disappointed, we assure youJ

Our contact details are: Tel: 020 7112 9068, email: [email protected] or you can fill up the contact form on our website for us to call you.

We’re back at work on 6 Jan 2020 and we can’t wait to hear from you. In the meantime, from all of us at Somer Design, we wish you a happy and productive holiday!
